What a day of shopping

Today I took my kids shopping for some back to school outfits.  Wow let me tell you what taking 4 kids under 12 to the mall was not the brightest of ideas :).  We had a lot of fun but was not my son's cup of tea waiting on his sisters to try on outfits.  We got some great deals going to Kohl's and Debs.  We spent 15.00 at Debs on 3 shirts saving 10.00 on my oldest daughters purchase.  Next we left the mall, cause I had enough, and went to Kohl's.  I know they always have great clearance so we went to town.  My son got 2 Tony Hawk shirts, a monster truck shirt, and a nice pair of shorts.  My youngest got a mudd shirt and mudd capri and another cute shirt, and oldest found a pair of leggings.  I also purchased a set of best friend necklaces for my oldest and my stepdaughter to have together so that they wouldn't be apart. They were two peas in a pod even though they never see each other. All in all I spent 85.00 and saved over 150.00 plus I got 10.00 in Kohl's cash for mom to go back and buy something for her.  BONUS!!!! I was very happy with our purchases and think I taught the kids that you can have great clothes and not have to pay an arm and a leg for them.  Happy Shopping!!!

Busy Sunday

Happy Sunday everyone.  It has been a busy Sunday and I am finally getting a chance to match up my coupons for the week.  I am not seeing any "fee deals" after coupons looking through ads but there are some good deals.  There were 3 inserts of coupons this weekend and also a set of 2 coupons from McDonald's for their McCafe's and new Mango smoothie, in the Parade section, clipping away and going to try to match some deals that can help you out at our local stores here in the Omaha area.  Happy Clipping!!!

Sunday Paper 8/7/11

I know that it is early but I already bought my Sunday paper.  Just by glancing there are some great coupons for Pillsbury products, some pet food (for those pet lovers), and some other miscellaneous coupons.  Will update with the ones I will be using and give tips on matching up your coupons with your ads for grocery stores in my next post but for now its time to hit the pillow have to start clipping in the morning.  Happy Saving!!

The Way I Coupon

I will be honest when I first started to coupon I was completely confused.  I was hearing phrases I had never heard before and didn't know what I was getting myself into.  I will be honest I didn't take coupons serious when I started.  I used one or two here and there and of course didn't see any savings.  When my husband and I relocated to Nebraska from Missouri we didn't have much and I knew that I needed to get as much out of our dollar as I could.  I started clipping coupons and kicked off my savings.  I will say at first, I think I was a fish out of water so to speak.  I walked around the store probably looking dazed and confused but did my best.  It was the best shopping trip ever.  I was used to spending about $50.00 a week on groceries for the two of us which always consisted of the same foods.  We were a pasta, ramen noodle, hot dog, chicken kinda family.  Sounds great but buying the same food every week can kinda ruin your taste buds.
To my surprise when I got to the checkout I looked at my cart and couldn't believe everything inside.  I had a great variety and could have bet millions that I had spent at least $200.00 if not more.  I was not used to having a full cart.  To my surprise I spent under $100.00.  I was so excited I knew I was on the right track so I kept clipping for additional savings.  I have gotten a lot of information for savings through other blogs as well as friends that have helped me along the way.  So I will post my savings and ideas for you to follow and hopefully help you along the way.  Happy Saving!!!!
